HOW IT WORKS
| 1: | Horizon is a freeform roleplay site. This basically means we are not constrained to any dice-based or grid games. We do, however, have requirements and limitations. |
| 2: | Upon joining, your character is a Human Outsider. Someone either without abilities or skills, or whose abilities or skills are hidden. |
| 3: | Once you have achieved posting rank Level 1, you may choose to change your character into either a Norm or a Phreak. (Profile/Edit Profile/Personal/Species dropdown) You will be notified of this by our Ranking Announcement System. |
| 4: | You must amend your character's Biography title to include either the word Phreak or Norm as appropriate. |
| 5: | Whichever species your character ends up as, You may then edit your user profile on the forum and pick an ability for them from the appropriate dropdown level for your species. (Profile/Edit Profile/Personal/Phreak Lvl 1 dropdown list or Norm Lvl1 dropdown list) Phreak abilities are in the "Phreak Lvl..." dropdown boxes Norm abilities are in the "Norm Lvl..." dropdown boxes Whichever ability you choose will appear in your side profile when you post and can then be utilised by your character. NOT BEFORE. |
| 6: | Everytime you acquire a new posting rank, you will be informed by the announcer and may pick another ability from the appropriate dropdown box in your user profile. You should not choose the same ability more than once. |
| 7: | Ideally, roleplay threads will accompany the acquiring of each new ability. |
| 8: | OOC board posting does not contribute towards the ranking Levels. Only IC posts do. |
| 9: | Forum-wide plots shall be sent out via Mass PM. These affect *everyone's* current roleplay. |
| 10: | A full list of abilities is available on the Information board, as well as information on how to edit your profile to select abilities. But you will be reminded how to do this by the Rank Announcer. |
| 11: | There is a rank level meter in your mini profile, which, if you hover over it with your cursor, lets you know how long you have until the next level is attained. |
| 12: | All abilities are subject to the interpretation of the player, so long as it's logical, rational, isn't excessively power-mad and doesn't god-mode in any way. |
